LOCATION:
The main location for the rotations & visits of all our program is
Mumbai, the commercial capital of the country. With population over
13 million, it is a melting pot for the people with different ethnic
background and number of languages. Mumbai offers scents of all the
states in
India by providing authentic verities in food.
Mumbai is an international city with an international Airport and is
well connected by other local public transport systems. It has many
attractions for international travelers including places for sight
seeing, & also vibrant night life including many five star hotels,
spas, discos & pubs.
In all Mumbai is a safe place. However, it is advisable to follow
the required code of conduct
Comprehensive orientation
and full time coordinators:

You will be met on arrival at Mumbai International Airport by our
representative from where you will be transported to your
guesthouse. We will arrange all accommodations, meals and provide
orientation on issues around diet, safety, transport, currency
conversion, communication, travel, norms and culture. Our
coordinators will hold weekly meetings to monitor and evaluate the
program and will provide 24-hour emergency support.
Accommodations (Shared
basis):
A/C Accommodation will be provided at a local guesthouse on a shared
basis (2-3 students per room). The food provided in the program is
traditional Indian vegetarian cuisine.
Please note that the accommodation does not include facilities like
internet, telephones, mineral water. For field visit the
accommodation will depend on availability. The food provided in the
program is traditional Indian vegetarian cuisine.
Communication:

You will be assigned a mobile phone (with free unlimited
incoming calls) for the duration of your stay. All-important phone
numbers will have been pre-programmed along with a limited amount of
airtime for emergencies. To make calls over and above the airtime
included, you can purchase pre-paid phone cards at various locations
locally.
You will be required to sign a $100 release form in order to receive
the cell phone. You will not be charged the $100 fee if the phone is
returned in good working order to your program coordinator.
Please note that there is no internet/e-mail access in the rural
areas. You will be able to check e-mail in Mumbai.
In all Mumbai is a safe place. However, it is advisable to follow
the required code of conduct.
Student’s responsibilities:
It is compulsory for the students to adhere to certain rules &
regulations while enrolled in any of the programs. These guidelines
are issued with reference to Indian social & cultural context and
will ensure effective communication and productive interactions:

Students will follow appropriate norms of behavior during their
interactions with the local coordinators and other course
instructors. They will interact in a professional manner;
Signs of familiarity or other public display of affection are
frowned upon. |

The dress code is semi-formal & conservative without any
display of skin. |

Students are expected to follow the instructions issued to them
by the person/ team to which they are assigned to the fullest
and with respect. The Indian work culture follows a system
of hierarchy which must be respected and adhered to. |

Heated arguments, verbal exchange, foul language and racist
comments will not be tolerated. |
Knowledge of English is a ‘must’ for all the students who enroll
for any of these courses as communication will be only in English.
EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME ROTATION:
All rotations are subject
to change depending on local availability and upon Indian holidays.
We will do their best to make alternate arrangements if a particular
activity or facility is not available during the program month.

Payment Schedule:
The application fee is charged upon application to the program.
Within 2-3 weeks, applicants will be accepted or rejected for
participation in the program. Upon acceptance, a transferable, but
non-refundable deposit of $350 is due within 30 days. The final
balance of the program fees is due 6 weeks prior to your program
date.
