India is one of the most ancient cultures in the world which has successfully inherited the precious knowledge about art of living and the sciences of the nature leading to complete physical, mental & spiritual well being. We aim at showing our students the glimpses of these sciences so that they will be aware of the depths of the knowledge which they may like to pursue further. Jewels of India - this program of our’s focuses mainly on international students and offer them introduction to the unique gifts of India to the world viz . Yoga, Ayurveda, Spirituality, meditation and culture by giving them an opportunity to observe, learn and experience these gifts for themselves. We intend to help them absorb the original scent of ancient Indian culture by orienting them about arts of India like Indian classical music, dance such as Kathak, Bharatnatyam,etc. This will be done through four weeks program which is open for graduates & undergraduate students having keen interest in ancient Indian Culture and sciences. |

| One week students will spend in understanding the basics of Yoga which includes Pranayam, Yogasanas and other yogic procedures. They will be given an understanding of the philosophy & ground rules which gives the desired results. One week they will be oriented about Ayurveda- an ancient Indian holistic system of medicine which teaches how to lead healthy life and take care of various ailments . Ayurveda talks not only about medicines but also about enhancement of mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing. It emphasizes on cleansing body by certain procedures known as panchakarma which helps natural flow of energy and thereby increases longitivity. One week they will be introduced to the Indian Spirituality. Students will be given sessions on the very foundation of Indian spirituality, the concepts in Indian spirituality and their contexts. Vedanta philosophy is core of Hindu religion. It is the science of life. It provides answers to question like what is the goal of life, how should one live the life so as to achieve that goal, what is the relation between man and god. This will also include session on meditation which would indeed be a blissful experience. The last week of the program students will be investing in knowing about Indian classical music & dance, architecture and other arts forms. |

The following will be the possible sights of rotation/visits for the students enrolling for this program: Kaivalydham :Kaivalyadham institute:Swami Kuvalayananda, the father of Scientific Yoga, founded Kaivalyadhama Institute (an Institute for the scientific and philosophical research, training and treatment in Yoga) in 1924. Kaivalyadhama has been engaged, right from its inception, in successfully blending the traditional techniques of Yoga with the scientific findings thereof, for the benefit of common people. Yoga asasnas & pranayam are not only beneficial for molding and cultivating the human mind for spiritual progress but also for the promotion of health and healing. Yoga is now being accepted in academic curricula of schools, colleges and universities as a means in which to enhance learning ability, orderliness in thinking, better job performance etc. and above all universal brotherhood and harmony. Chinmay Mission Trust : Chinmaya Mission was established in India in 1953 by devotees of the world-renowned Vedanta teacher, His Holiness Swami Chinmayananda. Under his guidance, these devotees formed the nucleus of a spiritual renaissance movement that now encompasses a wide range of spiritual, educational, and charitable activities, ennobling the lives of thousands in India and outside its borders. Following the Vedic teacher-taught tradition (guru-shishya parampara), Chinmaya Mission makes available the ageless wisdom of Vedanta, the knowledge of the one Reality, and provides the tools to realize that wisdom in one’s life. “To give maximum happiness to the maximum number for the maximum time” is the tenet that drives Mission workers to uplift humanity beyond selfish and sectarian attitudes and activities. There are over 250 Chinmaya Mission centers in India, and almost 50 outside of India. Vippasana Institute, Iagatpuri : Iagatpuri: This is the headquarter for the vippasana meditation technique . Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living. This is done through a ten days course which teaches one how to observe breath, feel the sensations, and achieve the equanimity. The institute has centres all over India as well as the world. This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of full liberation. Healing, not merely the curing of diseases, but the essential healing of human suffering, is its purpose. Podar Ayurvedic college:These institute is establish in 1941, today comprise of Ayurveda college, Ayurveda Hospital, & the institute of Contemporary Ayurved Research & Education in Ayurveda. The college runs regular university course for Graduate degree in Ayurveda (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery, BAM&S) Post Graduation course in Ayurveda to award doctors of medicine in Ayurveda. i.e MD (Ayu) in 8 specialization of ayurvedic medicine. 8 departments have been recognized for carriying out research for Doctorate degree (PhD degree in Ayurveda) |
